I had a little break from social media over the weekend as I was just in total shock over the events that happened in Paris on Friday night. I was sat in front of my TV on Friday, horrified, until about 1am whilst watching the live news coverage. I was too young to really remember 9/11, the London bombings or the Madrid bombings, (just a few examples) so the Paris attacks came as a complete and utter shock to me. I feel sick, still to this day, thinking about what this poor city and its people went through that night, and my heart goes out to anyone affected.
Life is too short. It helped me to put everything into perspective and made me realise how lucky I am to be alive and healthy. We must be careful not to take things for granted - we need to show our loved ones how we feel and do whatever it is that we want to do in our lives. We have complete control over what we do with this gift called life.
I stumbled across this article earlier and it made me so happy. It made me happy because instead of being afraid to go outside, these Parisians are uniting together and not letting what has happened make them feel anymore scared for their lives than they were a week ago. The people who did this want to make us scared of them, but these Parisians are not giving them the satisfaction. They are enjoying their lives (as they should be doing) and I don't think that there's anything more powerful and hopeful than that.
I agree with you in saying it came as a complete and utter shock! So, so sad. But what an awesome article. Thanks for sharing x
