Long time no post, but I'm back now with a yummy recipe to share with you! I first made these brownies last week with Hannah but made another batch yesterday because my family asked me to. The recipe is pretty easy to follow and doesn't have a particularly complicated list of ingredients. I love these brownies because they're so flaky on the top but so soft and spongy on the inside with a little crunch from the Oreos. I hope you enjoy the recipe and if you decide to make some yourself, make sure to tweet me @_sophielowe!
Ingredients:
- 140g dark chocolate
- 225g unsalted butter
- 450g caster sugar
- 110g plain flour
- 5 eggs
- 55g cocoa powder (or I used hot chocolate powder which is basically the same)
- A couple of packs of oreos (depending on how many you want to use, duh)
Method:
1) Pre-heat your oven to 190 degrees celsius/375 fahrenheit/gas 5. Line a baking tin (approximately 20x30cm) with grease proof paper.
2) Gently melt the butter and the chocolate together.
3) Stir in the sugar gradually.
4) Take the bowl off the heat and sieve in the flour and cocoa powder. Stir this together.
5) Beat in the eggs.
6) Pour a thin layer of the mixture into the baking tin. Then arrange the Oreos where you want them to be. I usually try to make this as even as possible.
7) Cover the Oreos with the rest of the mixture.
8) Bake for 30-40 minutes until the top of the brownie is crispy but the inside feel soft.
*Perfect time to wash everything up*
9) Take out of the oven and leave to cool down for at least 10 minutes before cutting it into however many slices you want. I'd recommend 8-20 slices.
And that's it! I hope you enjoy your delicious brownies!
Also, what do you think of my new blog layout? I'd grown rather bored of my previous one but absolutely love the simplicity of this one. I may still make a few adjustments here and there but I think it's pretty much complete now.

Brownies are my absolute favourite recipe to try out because each recipe seems to get a different outcome and I am still looking for a perfect recipe! Never tried adding oreos before though so I may have to give these a try! I added cookie dough on top of brownies once and cooked them, yum!!
